Tile Roof Replacement

Tile Roofing Materials
Tile roof replacement is something you should only have to do once in the lifespan of your home. But when it comes time, you should count on a reliable roofing contractor for proper installation. Davis Roofing has been in business since 1965, but our team has over 65 years of combined experience. Experts in the industry, all our work is done with quality professionalism.

The Origins of Tile
Various forms of tile surfaces have been covering homes for centuries, dating all the way back to ancient Rome. Clay varieties are formed when the clay is molded and baked. A readily available natural resource, they are also recyclable. At the end of their lifespan, tile roof replacement won’t send your old materials to the local landfill. It takes years of experience by a highly skilled professional to properly install this surface, but when done right, it can last for 100 years or more.

It is naturally resistant to fires, and insects are unable to penetrate it. It is not waterproof, so a strong underlayment is necessary. Typically, damage occurs when the underlayment becomes punctured or a heavy projectile like a tree branch strikes and breaks many of the tiles. When minor, we can repair the surface by removing damaged pieces, replacing the underlayment and installing new tiles. Major issues may require tile roof replacement.

Concrete tiles are typically made of some sort of cement mixed with sand and water. This type is becoming wildly popular with homeowners. It is lighter weight than clay and slate, but it can be manufactured to replicate their looks. This eliminates the need to reinforce your home due to a heavy load. This type is extremely tricky to cut and fit precisely, but we have the expertise to do the job right.

Manufacturers tend to apply a 50-year warranty, but the toughness of this surface combined with appropriate maintenance can allow it to last almost double that and sometimes longer. It also has great fire and insect resistance. With a surface like this, you may not have another tile roof replacement in your future.

They come in many unique shapes, but the two most common are half pipe and flat. The half pipe is very common in countries like Spain and Italy and works well with a Mission style décor. Flat tiles are more common in England and France and offer a sophisticated look. Both shapes offer different styles but are equal in strength and protection.3

Tile Roof Replacement
In most cases of tile roofing materials, any damages that occur are accidental or caused by severe weather. Large, heavy hail, projectiles, fallen tree branches or anything else that makes impact can cause cracks. Even inexperienced contractors walking carelessly can break tiles. While repairs can always be made, widespread problems may require tile roof replacement.

All installation projects should be handled by professionals, but in the case of tile roof replacement, it requires a certain measure of precision that can only be attained by experienced experts. We know how to install the roof decking, the underlayment, the tiles and all the flashings and protrusions that go with it. We use top of the line materials from high quality manufacturers. We install according to their guidelines in order to preserve the manufacturer’s warranty for you.

I had an emergency leak problem located in my bathroom area in my home. I called Davis Roofing out to do a repair. They first did the full roof inspection, which lead to a full roof replacement. The insurance company was a pain to work deal with most of the way through; however the project coordinator with Davis Roofing did a spectacular job explaining the process and helping me with all of the insurance paper-work as well as the completion notice to get depreciation released. I loved the work that was completed. I recommend this company to others!!

We had bad weather in our area in April of 2017. I contacted Davis Roofing to come out an look over my roof, they were very proficient and courteous. The roof had encountered severe wind damage and need to be totally replaced. They helped me navigate through Allstate Insurance company to receive my wind damage claim. This company did a great job throughout all phases of work they were hired to perform. I would recommend this company to others in need of a roof.
